Refund Policy:
- Request for refund can only be made no later than 20 days before the start of the event. 20% administration fee will be charged.
Rules and Regulations:
- All players require a valid CFC ID. Players renew or create a new one via the JustGo system.
- Time control: 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
- Players must write all their moves on the scoresheets provided.
- Forfeit time: 1 hour. If you do not show up for your game within 60 minutes of the round start time, you will forfeit your game.
- Requests for a bye (1/2 pt.) may only be made before the start of the tournament for Rounds 1 to 8 only.
- Maximum of two ½ point byes may be requested.
- Byes in subsequent rounds, additional to two, or any byes requested after the start of the tournament, will be given 0-points.
- A bye means the player is unavailable on a round and will not be paired.
- Clocks and chess set are provided.
- CFC and FIDE rated for sections: Open and U2000; U1600 will only be CFC rated.
- Players must disclose foreign, FIDE, and other over the board ratings, and these ratings, adjusted if necessary, may be used if higher than CFC. Over the board ratings such as club, league, scholastic, state or province, etc., adjusted if appropriate, may be used at our discretion if above CFC.
- No food permitted in the playing hall.
- The use of electronic devices is strictly forbidden in the playing venue.
- Players may be subject to a random check with a metal detector. Refusal to comply may result in game forfeit.
