Juniors to Masters Chess Academy and

Sport Surrey and
Victoria ChessSurrey is the second largest city in BC by population and will also be hosting the Canadian Open and Canadian Youth Chess Championship in July 2025. We have an opportunity to help grow and promote chess in Surrey, and to get our local players excited and ready. We can start by hosting a major BC event like the 2024 Keres Memorial in Surrey.
Grandmaster Gergely Szabo will be competing at the 2024 Keres Memorial to help promote chess in Surrey and the surrounding areas. GM Gergely Szabo has been the Team Canada Head Coach for several Canadian Teams will help raise the level of the 2024 Keres Memorial.

Play-up fee: $30 if player is within 200 points range.
*Unrated players may play in U1300 section without extra fee upon request, recommended for players with online ratings above 1300.
Family Discount: $20 per player from 2nd family member onwards.

Juniors to Masters Chess Academy Inc. is the provider of the National Training Program for Canadian Youths, as sanctioned by the Chess Federation of Canada. Juniors to Masters Chess Academy Inc. was founded by
GM Gergely Szabo and
Victoria Doknjas. GM Gergely Szabo has been Team Canada’s Head Coach at WYCC, WCCC, World U16 Youth Olympiad, and the Women’s Olympiad. Victoria has been Team Canada’s Head of Delegation at multiple WYCCs and NAYCCs.
